da Vinci® Surgical System

The da Vinci® Surgical System enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.

Advanced Surgical Technology

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a condition that may require surgery, you owe it to yourself to learn about all of your medical options, including the most effective, least invasive surgical treatments available.

Unmatched Precision

The da Vinci® Surgical System provides surgeons with an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy, putting a surgeon’s hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform. The da Vinci® System enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.

Patient Benefits

  • Significantly less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Less scarring
  • Shorter recovery time
  • A faster return to normal daily activities
  • And in many cases, better clinical outcomes

da Vinci® Hysterectomy

Traditional open hysterectomy—removal of the uterus—requires a 6- to 12-inch abdominal incision and weeks of recovery. The da Vinci® Hysterectomy is performed through five tiny incisions which heal in a fraction of the time. For women diagnosed with uterine fibroids, da Vinci® Myomectomy represents a minimally invasive surgical treatment designed to preserve the uterus.

da Vinci® Prostatectomy

The da Vinci® Prostatectomy performed with the da Vinci® Surgical System represents the fastest growing treatment for prostate cancer today. In addition to the other benefits, recent studies suggest that da Vinci® Prostatectomy may offer improved cancer control and a lower incidence of impotence and urinary incontinence due to the precision of the procedure.

da Vinci® Partial Nephrectomy

Traditional open kidney surgery requires a large and painful flank incision. Radical removal of the entire kidney results in a loss of kidney function that can sometimes be avoided. Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, urologic surgeons can remove the cancerous portion of the kidney through 6 to 7 tiny incisions with much quicker recovery, less pain and resulting in more preservation of the kidney function.

Other urologic surgeries using the da Vinci® Surgical System include: robotic cystectomy, robotic rovsing (large renal cysts), robotic sacral colpopexy, and ureteral reimplants.
